Launching this Sunday!

This Sunday, October 30th, in connection with the beginning of the Legacy of Faith worship series, we will launch HomeCentral, a brand new ministry initiative here at Central Presbyterian Church.

HomeCentral is all about leaving a legacy of faith at home by intentionality taking steps to grow our faith and the faith of the next generation.

HomeCentral is birthed out of the biblical belief that the best and primary place for spiritual nurture is the home – that what we do at home to grow in our faith and the faith of the next generation is as important (perhaps more important!) than what we do on Sundays! To that end, HomeCentral exists to help you become more intentional about building a God-honoring home, one step at a time.

This is not a new program. It is not something else to add to your schedule. It is not even “something else” that Central is doing. It is a tool to help you assess where you have been and then discern where God is challenging you to grow. Home Central will provide resources and connections to opportunities both at home and here at Central that will help make that growth a reality.

The HomeCentral Resource Center is located in the Concourse across from the main entrance and it will open Sunday, October 30th! Be sure and stop by and see what’s available, enjoy some light refreshments, and connect with a HomeCentral Host if you have any questions.

Home Central Website
HomeCentral is launching a new website, www.homecentralcpc.org  where you will find all of the resources available in the physical resource center as well as short videos explaining what they are and how to best use them on this site. This site will also go live, beginning Sunday morning, October 30th. You may also access this site through the homepage of our church website www.centralpc.org.

Whether you’re single, married, new parents, grandparents or caring for aging parents, HomeCentral has the tools to help you grow your faith at home! Let's all join together in being intentional about building a God-honoring home, one step at a time! See you Sunday!

Legacy Sunday ~ Next Sunday, 11/6, on All Saints Day, we will be continuing our Legacy of Faith series by celebrating what God has done through the faith of those who have walked with God and served his church for many decades. Our former pastor, Ron Scates, will be our guest preacher. He and his wife, Anne, will be visiting from Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas, where Ron has been the Senior Pastor since 2000. A reception will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 pm in the Courtyard for you to visit with Ron and Anne.

Sundays @ Central ~ Complete your celebration at 3:00 pm on November 6th  by bringing a friend to hear our favorite Celtic musician, Chris Norman.  He will be joined by David Greenberg as they return to the Sundays @ Central Concert Series to bring his brand of toe-tapping jigs and reels from Cape Breton and beyond. And don't forget the kids. They'll be dancing in the aisles and you'll want to join them.

Young Adults Events ~ Single, married, married-with-kids, if you consider yourself a young adult, please join us for two November events, a Halloween themed party on November 4th and a weekend in a beautiful mountain retreat center in PA on November 18th & 19th. Pick up a flyer at Connection Central or contact Ian McFadden, ian@centralpc.org.

Men’s Fraternity ~ In honor of all the saints who from their labors rest, Men’s Fraternity WILL NOT meet tomorrow, October 31, and will resume on November 7.

Deborah Circle ~ will meet at the home of Fran Roomets at 7 pm on Tuesday, 11/8.  For information contact Sharon Bley 410/828-1102.

Thanksgiving Baskets ~ The Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) needs your help so we can provide a Thanksgiving Basket to families that are struggling       to put food on their table.  Join us this year as we seek to bless 2,500 families with Thanksgiving Baskets.  It's never been so easy to participate.  $22 will provide a   family with a Thanksgiving Basket. Visit the ACTC table in the Concourse.

Operation Christmas Child ~ It's not too late to spread joy and peace to the hurting children around the world by intentionally sharing God's love by filling a shoebox with gifts for the children. The deadline to turn in the gift-filled shoe boxes is November 13th.  Stop by the table in the Concourse for more details.

Second Sunday Worship Discussion Group ~ Join us Sunday, November 13th  at 6 pm in the Prayer Parlor, as Jill McFadden leads a discussion on the relationship between worship and “doing good”.  You’re invited to continue learning about this topic at the Shayne Moore event that follows at 7:00 pm in the Worship Center.

An Evening with Shayne Moore ~ You may be one woman, in one town, at one church, with one voice, but together all our “ones” add up and we make a difference. Women Who Stand/Baltimore will host Shayne Moore, author of Global Soccer Mom, in the Worship Center on 11/13 at 7:00 pm. Tickets available in the Concourse or www.worldrelief.org/events

Thanksgiving Service ~ on Wednesday, November 23 at 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary. Join our Central family as we come together to praise God for his provision at a  service of Thanksgiving, “Turning Back to Praise”.

Kingdom Building

Spiritual impact is taking place as Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Northern Maryland keeps active 27 middle & high school huddles (clubs), 9 sports teams and studies  for coaches.  Earlier this month 325 attended a Fields of Faith celebration to give God glory through student testimonies. 12 students received Christ for the first time and 18 rededicated their lives to the Lord.
